Heart Math reveals how to use our emotions to control our thoughts. Few of us think of the heart as being able to influence the brain. Most of us think of the brain as being our power center. Research has revealed that the heart is much more powerful than the brain.

Researchers at the Institute of Heart Math have been passionately exploring the language between the heart and brain since 1991. This research was initiated and now led by Doc Childre. Guided by his concern about the effects of rampant stress on society, he developed a system to use heart rhythms and positive emotions to transform negative thoughts such as stress, anxiety and worry.

Through research, the power of the heart was revealed. These discoveries are the basis of the Heart Math approach.
1)  The heart's electrical field is 60 times greater than the brain's. Impulses the brain receives from the heart greatly influence its activity.
2)  Heart rhythms have a huge effect on brain activity. By achieving consistent heart rhythms, brain activity becomes healthier and less stressed.
3)  Emotions are much stronger than thoughts. Another person sitting nearby can perceive the energy of positive emotions such as love, caring and compassion from another. Unless a person is extremely intuitive or psychic they cannot pick up thoughts from another as easily.

Positive emotions keep our heart rhythms steady. This fact has a great influence on the workings of our brain. Our heart rhythms send electrical impulses to our brain. If we use techniques to steady our heart rhythms, our brain function becomes smoother and clearer. Heart Math gives us the tools to do this.
